Class Mate

Developer Quote: "Class Mate is an attendance app that can be used for tracking any type of member based activity from classrooms to boardrooms."

- COST: 99 cents - APP STORE STARS: 4
- Categories: Education, Lifestyle, Locator, Native, Utilities

There are so many occasions on which you need to take a head count whether for legal, social or personal reasons. Teachers do this in class every day, sports coaches do the same at games and practices, business meetings need to keep track of attendees, and that is just to name a few occasions. Class Mate does a great job, very easily with no fuss, of keeping track of attendees at any event. It has a simple and efficient interface that allows for entry of one or many classes and its members. Features include configurable classes and member list, session tracking, both check-in and check-out buttons, and a session summary that can be emailed and used in a spreadsheet application.

We've mentioned that using this counter app is very simple. Here's a rough idea of how to use it to your benefit:

1. Tap the Edit button in the upper left hand corner to edit the sample class.
2. Add new classes with the plus button in the upper right.
3. You can select a class using the arrow buttons in the lower middle. There is also a list button that lets you change the order of your classes.
4. Once you have a class selected, you can tap the Class button in the lower left to add class members. You'll need to set up all of your class members before you add a session.
5. The session button in the lower right takes you to the sessions screen. You can view, add, and email a report on all of our session for that class.
6. There are three check boxes for each class member.
In - Class member is present.
Late - Class member is present and was late.
Out - Class member is present and has been checked out of the class.

Don't try to guess or draw with paper and pencil the participant information of your group meeting. It's so much simpler to whip out your iDevice and tap in the numbers needed to keep an accurate account of attendance. It's an uncomplicated process to document participants and session information with this attendance app.

COOL CONCLUSION: "ClassMate is a handy tool to keep track of attendees so you don't need to recall any names or faces after the meeting."

How many times have you visited a lovely spot on vacation, or even found a beautiful home while house-hunting, seen trendy clothes at the mall or had any other of those "Ooooh....Aaaah!" moments as you rush around every day? Sometimes you may take a pic of the item that interests you, or of your child doing something really cute, but you don't write down that specific location, time or other details that will help you remember more about that moment and place.

You can make life simple for yourself by using Voice Photo Recorder to record all the tips, notes and details you need for memories that will last forever. - COST: Free - APP STORE STARS: 4

You can watch pre-recorded sitcoms, dramas, live or reality shows, and of course TV game shows any day of the week. I love sitcoms, but have you ever watched that fun TV game show, Family Feud? This game app is really just like the show in that you hear the popular theme music and similar sounding host's voice. You can play this brain teasing family game with friends, relatives and your Facebook buddies. There are many social options in this app to make your game even more challenging and fun for you. Some of the exciting features of Family Feud are as follows:

• Social game - play with Facebook friends, and follow your own and friends’ progress via daily high score rankings.
• Favorite elements from the TV show - thousands of survey questions, ‘Fast Money’ play, authentic theme music and the familiar scoreboard in dazzling HD.
• Predictive text input and auto spell checker - make typing answers lightning fast.

When you open the app, there are a few preliminaries to deal with first. Decide whether you want to log in or play as a guest. Then you collect some coins and are free to begin playing. The familiar Family Feud music is playing in the background and the answer slots on the wall flip just as they do on TV. If you recall, the object of the game is to try to name the most popular answers to survey questions posed to 100 people. Go ahead and see if you can read the minds of those who have set the responses to your questions. This is a game that requires a good sense of humor, a little intellect and a lot of social interaction!

iSplash Pro

Developer Quote: "Get creative with the iSplash app! Choose any image and iSplash will turn it to grayscale. Then, choose any part of the image to restore the original color."

- COST: Free - APP STORE STARS: 3
- Categories: Native, Photo & Video, Photo Effects, Photography

Make something special of your photos instead of having a collection of plain snapshots sit in your photo album. Given the many digital options we have to manipulate our images and even improve on them, take a few minutes to transform shots of your memorable occasions into something really fantastic with moods and shades of color that really bring out the personality of your picture.

iSplash Pro provides you with the opportunity to create dramatic and unique photos out of your collection. The color will literally jump out at you with its vibrancy when combined with the classic black and white shading on portions you choose. Some of the artistic features of iSplash Pro are as follows:

- Spray Can Brush
- Square Brush
- Circle Brush
- Two Finger Pinch Zoom

It's simple enough to select and use a photo from your library or take a picture with your camera then edit the photo right in iSplash Pro. Open the app and you'll see icons on the top of your screen to select your preferred shot, save the finished version, as well as undo and redo your editing. At the bottom of the screen, you'll get to select tools such as a paint spray can for color, a black/white spray can, square color brush and circle color brush. (One thing I'd like to see in the next update is a simple set of instructions that make the app simpler to navigate). Go ahead and color in the photo the way you'd like it to look. Give it lots of color, or make it thoughtful and dark. Play around with the editing buttons till you have your image just the way you'd like in a display that's uniquely yours.

COOL CONCLUSION: "Give your photos a touch of color mixed with classic black and white to give them style and originality using iSplash Pro."

Wooords

Developer Quote: "Wooords is a freeform wooord game with unique fridge magnet gameplay that removes all distractions, it's just you and the letters."

- COST: $1.99 - APP STORE STARS: 5
- Categories: Entertainment, Games, Native, Word Game

Word gamers, there are a multitude of games which give you the opportunity to test your brain and vocabulary. How about a game with simple rules such as moving refrigerator magnets around repeatedly to form as many words as possible? This is the theme of Wooords. The high-resolution letters just glide around the board easily, and you get bonus points for larger words, of course. Each puzzle has one or more 9-letter words providing you an opportunity to rack up a huge amount of points. Some of the fun features of Wooords are as follows:

- Create words in quick succession to get combos and multipliers.
- 3 game modes to test your vocabulary, speed and concentration.
- 60+ puzzles will push you to the limits.
- Challenge your friends to a daily puzzle.
- GameCenter Leaderboards and Achievements.
- Original sound track
- Synced across multiple devices

I found the game rather addicting once I started to play. Instead of just putting in a few minutes worth, I started puzzling over the letters knowing there were tons more words I hadn't even begun to form yet. Another great bonus to Wooords is that the whole family can enjoy and benefit from playing an educational and brain busting game. There are no lengthy rules to learn, no maneuvers to figure out. Just move those brightly colored magnets at will, and make the longest and most words you can!

COOL CONCLUSION: "Wooords is simple and yet challenging word game fun that all ages can enjoy at any time, no refrigerator needed!"
